Following recent privacy adjustment by Google to the newly launched Buzz social media, it turns out that Facebook is also tweaking its own privacy settings. This time its for Facebook applications, which are widely criticized over privacy issues.
“Facebook is designed to give you control over the information you share, and today we’re making available some of our most recent privacy controls to applications on Facebook and websites and services using Facebook Connect,” Facebook said in an announcement on its blog.
Privacy on social media sites are fast becoming a major issue for users. Google made some huge changes to the privacy settings on Google buzz days after launch, after users bitterly complained about issues of privacy.
It was just in December of last year that Facebook pushed to make more profiles public, which still remain a controversy today. Lets hope these changes wont be a headache like many other changes the social media giant made. As a result of the changes, you may see more prompts from apps asking you to change your privacy settings.
