Apple CEO Steve Jobs is continuing his onslaught on Adobe Flash after it was revealed that the recently launched iPad tablet will not be running flash. This time it was at a meeting with The Wall Street Journal.
It’s reportedly during a meeting with WSJ executives that Jobs was ask a question related to Adobe Flash, where he simply dismissed the popular video technology as “a CPU hog,” full of “security holes,” and classed it as old and outdated technology. In the face of this revelation, it means Flash will almost definitely not be including on the iPad tablet or iPhone.
For those of you who don’t know what Flash is; it is that piece of software from Adobe that your computer prompts you to install when you access a web page containing contents that relies on the flash player to work. Majority of those animated or video display advertisements and embedded videos are all run by Adobe Flash.
This is not the first time the Apple CEO criticized Adobe Flash. Two years ago at a shareholder meeting, Jobs explain why Flash was not supported on the iPhone. He said, “it is too buggy and performs too slow to be effective on the iPhone.”
What this means for Apple mobile devices (iPhone, iTouch, iPad), is that whenever you access a webpage that contains flash contents, you will not be able to see those contents, but instead see blank spaces. Moreover you may even not be able to view websites that are built with flash.

What is the alternative if you won't be able to use these devices without abode flash? I do believe you need to come up with a suitable alternative solution before you can actually challenge someone about their product. I just at the end of the day when you and at the top of your game you can say any bullshit about another man's product and get away with it and the small man agrees….
The reason why Apple is getting away with bashing Adobe is because the average Joe who buys an iPhone or iPod touch does not know what Adobe Flash is and neither do they care to know. They just want a device that works. So far the iPhone and iTouch been working ok without Flash support. But the iPad is what really cause the stir, because it is more an internet device rather than a phone or music player.
For Apple devices the alternative would be quicktime player, which to me have nothing much over flash. But the technology to look out for in the coming future is HTML5, which is gaining popularity. Google already is using it on Google voice and i think YouTube.
